Does it seem to you that time is going faster and faster, yet every year we can’t wait for this beautiful season to come? I am definitely a sucker for Christmas, and whether I celebrate it in Colombia or Australia I try to keep the traditions of both countries as much as I can.
There are many similarities in the way most cultures celebrate the holidays: Food, family and friends, but beautiful differences surface when you look a bit more into it. Over time I have learnt to appreciate and embrace such differences, although I must admit that during my earlier years in Australia I really missed the quirks, the vibrancy and general chaos of Christmas time in Colombia.
I feel that birthdays are such an interesting yet odd time of the year, as the attention is on me and I love having special people around, but at the same time I hear this internal call to be quiet, look inward and examine the main events, my attitudes and actions of the last twelve months.
For the last few years I have been very aware of colour and what it does to your feelings and senses. Every time I choose I piece of clothing, jewellery or handbag for my collection the colour of that particular piece has to speak to me. Even if I can’t translate the meaning right away I know that there is someone out there that will, so I take care of it from the time it arrives from Colombia or anywhere else in South America until its final destination to your wardrobe or jewellery box.
